The company uses the IATA Code LX that it inherited from the Swiss regional airline Crossair (Swissair code was SR). The ICAO code is SWR, inherited from Swissair (Crossair was CRX), in order to keep international traffic rights. Following inauguration of Lufthansa Group, the regional fleet was changed from Crossair Embraer Avro ERJs and Saab for RJS, which are flown by a wholly owned subsidiary, Swiss European Air Lines.
